NSW Lotteries Authorisation and Update

As the only association with authorisation to represent Lottery agents in NSW and ACT, chief executive Adam Joy and I, met with the Tim Jensen, General Manager of NSW Retail, NSW Lotteries on Friday, 16th December.

For the removal of doubt (NANA - Newsagents association of NSW and ACT) have not had authorisation to represent NSW and ACT newsagents since October 2016.

This determination was made on 6 October 2011 and expired on 28 October 2016. Page 23 ACCC final determination A91269

In that meeting, we discussed the First and Second round of retail image refits. For round 2 an extension of time from June 2017 to November 2017 will take place.

The main reason for extension of time being the first round of refits has impacted, from a time management point of view, the availability of shop fitters to be able to manage workload for the next round.

Like all first time roll outs, there have been teething problems which have been managed on the fly. But overall newsagents have managed well.

I have been working on the following with our members in regards to retail image fit outs:

  1. Facilitate communication with NSW Lotteries and shop fitters where necessary.
  2. Assist with solutions to minimise time out of the business.
  3. A member finance option which is newsagent specific, if required.
  4. DIGIPOS screen discounts with Entwined solutions.
  5. Awareness regarding the NSW Government rebate to NSW & ACT newsagents.

If you would like assistance with your upcoming Lotteries shop fit, please let me know.

I am happy to work with you, to make this as smooth a process as is manageable.
